Give yourself a boost with these great tasting, quick and easy to make coconut bars. These coconut bars contain all natural ingredients, are gluten and dairy free and contain no added sugar.

Loaded with MCT’s and Lauric acid, these coconut bars are great to use prior to your workout or as a healthy energy boosting snack during the day!

What's in our Brilliantly Boosting Coconut Bars:

• 120g of shredded coconut

• 200g organic coconut oil (melted)

• 170g natural organic honey

• ¼ tsp vanilla extract

• 1 pinch sea saltshredded coconut

How we do it:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together in a mixing bowl.
  2. Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper and pour in mixture.
  3. Press the mixture down into the tray so you get a dense layer.
  4. Place the mixture into a freezer until solid.

…Done!

Cut into bars and store in the fridge to ensure they stay solid.

 

*If you are a chocolate lover you can add 100g of dark natural chocolate. Melt chocolate until smooth and add after the coconut base is solid. Just pour over the top then place back into freezer before serving.

 

I Should Coco:

Coconut oil is perfect for cooking, adding to smoothies and deserts and is known to be great for healthy skin. Coconut oil is one of the healthiest oils available. Unlike other oils (e.g vegetable and olive oil) coconut oil doesn’t spoil when heated.

 

Coconut oil consists of over 90% raw saturated fat in the form of beneficial medium chain triglycerides (MCT’s).

What are MCT’s?

Unlike other fats MCT’s are used as energy by the body almost like a carbohydrate instead of being stored as fat. Gaining energy that doesn’t come from sugar or caffeine is one of the biggest benefits of using MCT’s as a pre-workout or as an energy-boosting snack.

 

Why?

Coconut oil is high in lauric acid and contains zero cholesterol. This makes coconut oil a great replacement for traditional food preparation oils such as vegetable oils or animal based fats.
